From 1 March to 31 May 2023, the OPUS association welcomed Sara, a 24-year-old Italian, and Seifeddine, a 27-year-old Tunisian, both unemployed, to prepare for the XVIIIth International Scientific Congress on Dry Stone, organised by the municipality of Goult (84) and the International Scientific Society for the Multidisciplinary Study of Dry Stone (SPS), which will be held from 2 to 8 October 2023 in Goult, and in which the OPUS association, partner of RESMYLE project, is actively participating, since it is behind the creation of the Conservatoire des Terrasses de Culture de Goult.

The aim of welcoming our 2 eco-volunteers was to:

- introduce them to the techniques and diversity of dry-stone work in Provence (calades, terraces, bories, etc.) and specifically in Goult,

- Make them aware of the biodiversity that these structures encourage,

- to teach them how to create tools for discovering, protecting and promoting these dry-stone structures.

Sara and Seifeddine were given the following tasks:

- Update the educational trail at the Conservatoire des Terrasses de culture de Goult,

- Produce a topographical guide to this remarkable site, to promote and publicise the dry-stone technique.

A feedback meeting was held on Thursday 25 May to present Goult's elected representatives with a mock-up of the topographical guide and the proposed new panels for the Conservatoire site. This work will certainly be used by the Goult town council to promote the Conservatoire site with a view to the next International Dry Stone Congress.

OPUS, a Euro-Mediterranean association based in Provence and accredited by the CPIE des Pays de Vaucluse (Centre Permanent d'Initiatives pour l'Environnement), offers a wide range of activities linked to heritage enhancement and environmental protection. It is one of the French partners in the RESMYLE project.
