ENSERES subgrant helps Lebanon to raise awareness on the need to preserve its natural and cultural heritage

The mission of the "Lebanese Committee for the Safeguard of Tire" (CSLT) has lasted for over forty years. Since 1980 it has been committed in safeguarding the environmental and cultural heritage of the city, its sustainable development. For millennia, the centre located in southern Lebanon has been a protagonist of Mediterranean history, and CSLT's bet is that it will continue to be so thanks to its inhabitants.

ENSERES practical workshop in Tunisia: which tools are best for effective biodiversity conservation?

The Mediterranean partners in the ENSERES project got together on 16 September 2022 in Sfax, Tunisia, hosted by the local partners at the Municipality of Sfax. An activity led by the project partners MedCities and European Topic Centre, University of Malaga (ETC-UMA), co-organized in collaboration with the partners in the region, this interactive workshop provided a good opportunity to explore together the variety of biodiversity protection and management tools developed by a wide array of projects across the Mediterranean.

GREENLAND in Egypt has selected about 400 young people for the training on green and circular economy

390 NEETs (young people who are Not in Employment, Education or Training) have been accepted in GREENLAND in Egypt after being interviewed in Alexandria and Damanhour during 2022 .

Many interviews have been conducted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Egpytian parnter of GREENLAND) to select the NEETs based on the following criteria :

Co-Evolve4BG in Tunisia organises online training on coastal/maritime tourism

As part of the Co-Evolve4BG project, an online training was held on 30 November 2022. This training aimed to provide a brief diagnosis on the development of coastal/maritime tourism in Djerba and the challenges to focus on during the next steps of the project (elaboration of the action plan at the scale of Djerba). During this training, several initiatives to ensure sustainable coastal/maritime tourism at Djerba level were highlighted, focusing on the entities involved.
