The local government of Deir Qanoun ElNaher, a town in the Tyre area, south of Lebanon, has made efforts in recent years to achieve a more sustainable system for managing its own urban waste. The municipality implemented a source-sorting system in 2019, which has resulted in 70-80% of residents committing to sorting their waste.

Improving waste management systems to make them more environmentally and economically sustainable is a common challenge faced by many towns and cities in the Mediterranean region. Berain, a municipality located in the governorate of Zarqa, central region of Jordan, has been dealing with waste management problems for years.

On the 22^nd November 2022 a workshop for the establishment of a Green Building cluster in Tunisia has been held.  In order to create the international green building cluster, the BorjCedria Technopark Management Company in collaboration with all the partners implemented a database regrouping all the stakeholders of the buildings energy efficiency in the Mediterranean region.

SACAGRI, a start-up specialized in the production of technical textiles mainly for agricultural use, is one of the circular economy initiatives supported by the CLIMA project for greener Tunisia.
