Pieria is one of the most beautiful areas of Greece and is bordered by Mount Olympus, the Pieria Mountains and the Aegean Sea. Pieria is a prefecture that combines excellent mountain and sea and consequently winter and summer activities.
DECOST starts collaboration with the Med4Waste project to capitalise on its results for waste management
Some members of the DECOST team participated in the first meeting organised by Med4Waste, a new ENICBCMED project that will work in the coming years on the capitalisation of the results obtained by the waste management projects previously funded by this cooperation programme.
MED4EBM in Lebanon uses art to raise environmental awareness at Tyre Coast Nature Reserve
Under the framework of the MED4EBM project, Tyre Coast, Nature Reserve (TCNR) conducted an event entitled: raising awareness through art at Tyres’ public garden in Tyre, Lebanon. The event was conducted on the 24th of November 2021. It was attended by 22 participants from the local community, schools, associations, and organizations.

The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) together with the Palestinian Solar Sutainable Society (PALSSES) held a workshop on 12 January 2022. Participants from the local Steering Committee: Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority PENRA, Environmental Quality Authority, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Local Government, NGOs, and Private Companies attended the workshop.
MEDWAYCAP project launched to mitigate local water shortage and contribute to environmental challenges at Mediterranean level
The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) hosted as coordinator the launching event of MEDWAYCAP, a significant European project involving partner organizations from Greece, Italy, Egypt, Malta, Tunisia, Palestine and Jordan, and many relevant stakeholders at national level.
During the Kick-off meeting of MEDWAYCAP that took place on 16th and 17th of December 2021 in Thessaloniki, a Press conference was held and a fruitful dialogue took place between panelists and journalists.

MED4EBM and ENSERES projects build synergies on sustainable coastal management
MED4EBM project partners participated in the online synergy meeting which took place on 11th January 2022 with the recently granted capitalization project ENSERES (Enhancing Socio-Ecological RESilience in Mediterranean coastal area). The latter plans to capitalize on some of the results of MED4EBM to improve it.
