iHERITAGE, the groundbreaking ENI CBC MED project aimed at promoting heritage tourism, has been featured in a critical review publication titled  "Insights on the Film Tourism and Archéocinema for the Promotion of Heritage Tourism: A Critical Review" by Prof. Dr. Naif Haddad. The publication explores the link between cultural heritage, media, and film tourism, highlighting the importance of utilizing film tourism as a marketing channel for World Heritage Sites (WHS) and cultural heritage tourism.

The iHERITAGE project, which is approaching its final stage of implementation, is expected to enhance young people's entrepreneurial skills and contribute to the promotion of WHS and other heritage sites as filming locations. The project emphasizes the need for collaboration between film tourism, Archéocinema, and destination marketing managers to ensure that the films produced showcase the destination in a positive light.

Jordan, with its landscape, geographical advantages, stable political situation, and established film-making infrastructure, is seen as a promising destination for Cultural Heritage film tourism shootings. The publication hopes that the government will continue to support initiatives like iHERITAGE to maximize the potential of this growing industry. The publication also highlights the impact of films on tourism, using the example of the film "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," which significantly increased tourism to the ancient city of Petra. As part of the iHERITAGE project, an Archéocinema will be created, allowing users to experience famous movie scenes shot inside Petra in augmented reality.

Archéocinema, a key component of the iHERITAGE project, will play a crucial role in communicating with archaeology and heritage tourism. The project envisions organizing festivals to engage the public and experts in discussions about the archaeological contributions showcased in Archéocinema. Through the iHERITAGE project, the public will be able to explore historical sites and monuments in their past glory, thanks to devices that provide augmented reality content. The project aims to create interactive and immersive experiences for visitors, including guided tours and the ability to relive famous movie scenes.

Overall, the iHERITAGE project, as highlighted in Prof. Dr. Naif Haddad's publication, is set to revolutionize the promotion of heritage tourism through film tourism and Archéocinema. By utilizing innovative technologies and collaborations, the project aims to enhance the visitor experience and increase awareness and appreciation of UNESCO cultural heritage sites.
