Co-Publication: Exploring The Medicinal Properties of Wild Plants from the Capital of the Nabataeans

This document discusses the application of VR/AR technology in identifying the medicinal properties of wild plants in the Petra region. It highlights the significance of this research in aiding people to recognize beneficial plants while avoiding harmful ones. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of protecting the Petra region against desertification and climate change. The research findings generated interest from the Petra community during the third B2B event.

iHERITAGE Portugal Augmented Brochure: MEDITERRANEAN DIET IN AUGMENTED REALITY

The University of Algarve has meticulously crafted an Augmented Reality (AR) brochure to highlight the richness of the Mediterranean Diet through the captivating medium of augmented reality. Through dedicated research, a fusion of innovative graphics and cutting-edge technology was explored to curate an immersive experience within the augmented reality world. In collaboration with the Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira, the University of Algarve, as a key partner, embarked on a fruitful partnership with the DiMEd project, generously supported by CRESC ALGARVE 2020.This collaboration resulted in the creation of a comprehensive array of digital educational resources meticulously tailored to illuminate the intricacies of the Mediterranean Diet. These resources encompassed a spectrum of tools designed to empower educators and trainers, offering a plethora of materials to enrich classroom and session experiences, as well as facilitating autonomous learning endeavors. Accessible for exploration and download, the digital brochures invite curious minds to explore their digital content, encouraging them to embark on a virtual journey of discovery!

MedTOWN Pilot projects on co-production initiatives

In total, 10 pilot projects in co-production initiatives in collaboration with public authorities and SSE entities have been funded through subgranting. As a result, over 800 individuals benefitted directly from the pilots project’s implementation. This process also led to the creation of 14 new jobs and the strengthening of 18 social enterprises. These pilot projects represent a significant milestone in the project, demonstrating the commitment to tangible, impactful action of local multilateral stakeholder partnerships.

TECHLOG O.5.7 - Joint proposal for a new shared qualification standard

The need to define standards for advanced training and licensing and qualification certification in the (trans)port and logistics field was among the main objectives of the project.
In the context of the TECHLOG project, stakeholders from port and transport companies and institutions from all partner countries were invited to take part in a capacity-building path, through which they were to exchange views and knowledge to build, supportedby the project partners and two external experts, a joint proposal for a common qualification standard for port and transport workers.
To this end, two preparatory online meetings, one in-person workshop, and one final recapitulatory online session were held.
The target audience for participation in the consultancy included:
1. Public officials with an administrative background and expertise in standardization and safety, such as:
a) State control officials in the shipping sector.
b) Harbormasters, often tasked with overseeing port operations in various countries.
2. Personnel involved in port operations, including:
c) Labor inspectorate officials responsible for health and safety regulations.
d) Port Authority representatives.
3. Professionals in logistics and transportation, such as:
e) Road safety officials.
f) Health and safety experts.

The resulting joint qualification standard is contained in Deliverable O.5.7, and was presented at the TECHLOG Final Conference, which took place in Cagliari on December 1st, 2023.

TECHLOG - O.5.6 Video tutorials

The project developed and released 3 videos showing the opportunities and benefits related to the use of advanced simulators and related training programs in port and transport activities.

The video tutorials developed in the framework of the project offer several positive aspects for workers and businesses, contributing to effective learning, skill development, and overall productivity. Tutorials are made available:

The 3 tutorials focus on:
- simulation opportunities for truck drivers;
- simulation opportunities for quay crane operators;
- training for innovation trainers.

YEP MED Development of New Curricula Materials

The proposed approach aims to implement complementary/additional VET courses within the existing institutional framework to achieve concrete results in a shorter period of time. These courses are developed after analysing the labour market skills gaps and in cooperation with public and private stakeholders to respond quickly to urgent needs (quick impact). This deliverable contains the training programs developed and adapted for implementation in the different participating Port Logistics Communities.

YEP MED Placement in Companies Strategy

This deliverable serves as a showcase of the strategies adopted by the YEP MED project to promote the placement in companies of the project's trainees, specifically by Partner nº3 , the Beirut Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture. The strategies aim at boosting the employability of participants through methods such as job fairs, coaching sessions, and a digital job platform.

YEP MED Training of Trainers and Talent Program

This deliverable contains the documentation related to the Training of Trainers (ToT) and Talent activities carried out by the Lead Beneficiary (BEN) within the YEP MED project. Both types of activities involved participants from all of the project’s Port Logistic Communities (PLC). While ToTs were crucial to ensure that each PLC had well prepared trainers, the Talent programme offered a unique opportunity for students and teachers/mentors from each PLC to further their knowledge and skills and create long-lasting international connections. Additionally to the scheduled ToTs, BEN offered individual support and additional support to the partners’ whenever further training was required to carry out the courses throughout the project. The names of participants have been eliminated from this public version of the deliverable for privacy reasons.

YEP MED Identification of Professional Profiles

These deliverables contribute to further precising at a regional scale the professional profiles in the fields of transport and logistics that cannot be covered or that have growth potential. An analysis of sub-sectors identified and labor market needs is developed to attain this. The present studies refer to the Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Beirut, Valencia, and Aqaba Port Logistics Communities.

YEP MED ERP for Simulated Companies

This deliverable provides an overview of the educational module developed within the Click and Cargo Entreprise Resource Planning (ERP) for the conduction of the YEP MED international trade training courses. It showcases the functionalities and most important features of the platform, which has revolutionized the way of training students in the field of freight forwarding and logistics operations. Simulation ensures a practical, hands-on experience, better preparing users to successfully incorporate the workforce.

Anti- and Pro-Oxidant Activity of Polyphenols Extracts of Syrah and Chardonnay Grapevine Pomaces on Melanoma Cancer Cells

The phenolic composition of Syrah and Chardonnay grape pomaces was studied to assess their antioxidant and prooxidant properties. This study shows the potential of winemaking by-products and suggests the opportunity to exploit them for the production of cosmeceuticals, or for combined therapies with approved anticancer drugs.

An outlook on modern and sustainable approaches to the management of grape pomace by integrating green processes, biotechnologies and advanced biomedical approaches

Grape pomace is the main solid residue of wine industry, mainly composed of seeds, skins and stalks, all containing high amounts of valuable phytochemicals. Considering its high potential, in this review, an outlook on different resources and products, which can be obtained by the recovery of grape pomace is provided.
