Aqaba Water Company (AW) was established in August 2004 as the legal successor to The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) in the Governorate of Aqaba. 
Aqaba Water has financial and administrative independence and rules. 
 
Moreover, it is the first commercial water services company in Jordan that has been entrusted with the managing water and sanitation resources in its coverage area.

The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) – partner of the CROSSDEV project – launches sub-grants to support economic actors and tourism-related service providers along the less known cultural sites in Aqaba, Jordan.

A total of 2 sub-grants are available to support MSMEs, tour operators, protected areas/ touristic sites managers, women centers and local communities.

The next NAWAMED meeting will be held on the 19 of June 2020 and hosted by the Tunisian partner CERTE - Centre for Water Research and Technologies. The meeting will be held remotely due to the travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. During the meeting, the Steering Committee will deal with the administrative issues, while the Technical Board with the project activities.

The MED GAIMS project develops games to revolutionize the tourist site experience by gamifying it with both physical and virtual applications, thus increasing tourism flows to the destinations, and creating jobs and start-ups for game entrepreneurs.
