RE-MED: guide opérationnel - valorisation DC&D en technique routière

The RE-MED project aims to transfer and experiment enabling technologies that allow construction and demolition waste (CDW) to be transformed into resources for the construction and maintenance of roads.
The purpose of this guide is to provide operational specifications concerning the environmental acceptability of alternative materials made from some CDW in road construction. The document specifies the framework within which they must be manufactured and the restrictions on their use and application and it sets out the obligations of the various parties involved in a road project, with a view to ensuring that a record is kept of worksites where CDW has been used.
This application guide is primarily intended for:
- Owners and contractors of construction and public works sites, to enable them to ensure optimum management of their waste;
- Owners and contractors wishing to use alternative materials made from CDW in road construction;
- manufacturing and application companies, so that they can offer materials made from CDW offering controlled environmental guarantees.

MED-InA: guide on developing a zero waste strategy

The MED-InA project proposed to develop and roll out a methodology for a “Zero Waste” public policy adapted to Mediterranean cities as an exemplary and participatory approach for waste reduction, reuse and recycling. The Zero Waste approach offers an alternative option to municipalities, aiming to reduce the amount of waste that is generated through prevention measures, such as reuse, recycling, and the development of local, community-centered activities.
This guidebook, in English and Spanish, has been designed to help local municipalities and waste management professionals adapt the zero waste approach to the Mediterranean context. This is a methodological tool to support municipalities with the key foundations for implementing a zero waste strategy at the local level, specifically adapted to the challenges and opportunities Mediterranean cities face today. The document provides concrete examples of how zero waste policies and strategies have been successfully applied elsewhere in Europe and across the Mediterranean.

SIRCLES guideline of best practices for successful biowaste recycling

This document lists best practices linked to the separate collection and management of organic waste. It has been prepared with the support of all partners of the SIRCLES project in order to define innovative management plans and NEETs and women engagement in biowaste collection and treatment.

A.2.5.1 Beach litter montoring guide (ITA, FRA, ENG, AR)

This guide outlines a standardized protocol for monitoring beach litter, aligned with the methodology proposed by the European Environment Agency. The guide is available in multiple languages: Italian, French, English, and Arabic. It provides comprehensive instructions on how to systematically collect, categorize, and document litter found on beaches, facilitating consistent data collection and contributing to broader environmental monitoring efforts.

OENOMED met en oeuvre des Chartes Locales pour une vitiviniculture durable dans les Aires Protégées de la Méditerranée

Le projet OENOMED s'engage à promouvoir une viticulture innovante et durable dans les aires protégées de la Méditerranée. Pour ce faire, des Chartes Locales ont été élaborées, définissant des critères et encourageant l'adoption de pratiques culturales durables spécifiques à chaque territoire impliqué dans le projet. L'objectif principal de ces chartes est de gérer de manière durable les ressources naturelles essentielles à la viticulture, notamment la préservation de l'eau, de la qualité du sol et de la biodiversité. De plus, elles visent à promouvoir la production d'éco-services par les vignobles, tels que l'économie circulaire et des dispositifs pour une gestion responsable de l'irrigation. Ces Chartes Locales définissent des normes minimales permettant aux vignobles de prétendre à l'appellation "Vins des Aires Protégées de la Méditerranée". Cette sous-appellation reconnaît les efforts des producteurs pour contribuer à la préservation des aires protégées et à la durabilité de la vitiviniculture.

FFN-ii: Training on Location Aware System (LAS) Advances

The training meeting on Location Aware System (LAS) advances took place in Mabrouka Society in Khlidia-Ben Arous, Tunisia on May 18, 2023. The last day of the project's 3rd consortium meeting took place in Tunisia, by the Olive Tree Institute and the Regional Research Centre on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture (CRRHAB), and within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. Participants in the training meeting were the partners’ personnel and the hosting partner was the CCRHAB research team.
Eleven e-traps baited with Ceratitis capitata male attractant were set up gradually, along with conventional delta ones in the peach experimental sites belonging to Mabrouka society in Khlidia-Ben Arous. Tests on the transmission of data from the field to the server have been carried out successfully but with some failures. The research team will continue working to improve the quality of the devices.

FNN-ii: Training in MedFlyNet

The training Meeting on MedFlyNet took place in Campobasso on the 25th - 26th July 2022 within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. This was an in-person meeting, preceded by a one-day online meeting, held on 24th February 2022. Participated to the meeting the partners AUA, UCO and CRRHAB.
The meeting was carried at the premises of the University of Molise, organizing partner. The main objective was to provide a detailed technical description of the MedFlyNet prototype, for both the e-trap and basic e-services, including practical training and field demonstration. In more details, the meeting was organized in 4 sessions: session A on Medfly e-trap, session B: In-field training; session C: MedFlyNet digitalization and monitor module; session D: MedFlyNet DSS.

FFN-ii: Training in OliveFlyNet

The Training Meeting in OliveFlyNet took place in Athens, Greece on the 15th - 17th June 2022 within the framework of the FruitFlyNet-ii project. This was an in-person meeting, preceded by a one-day online meeting, organized by the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and held on 24th February 2022. Participated to the meeting the technical teams of partners UCO UNIMOL, LARI, and IO.
The meeting was carried at the premises of the Agricultural University of Athens (organizing partner). The main objective was to provide a detailed technical description of the OliveFlyNet prototype, for both the e-trap and e-services, including practical training and field demonstration in the experimental site of AUA located in Koropi, Athens, Greece. The 3 days meeting was organized in 5 sessions: session A on OliveFly e-trap prototype, session B on OliveFlyNet Monitor Module; session C on OliveFlyNet Mobile GIS Module, session D on OliveFlyNet assisted e-services, and finally, in the last day session E on In-field demonstration.

Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection tools catalogue in Arabic

In the framework of the Project PANACeA, the MED Biodiversity Protection Community built the present Catalogue of tools for biodiversity protection in Mediterranean MPAs, covering different needs and requirements for ecosystem-based management. This Catalogue is an update and extension of a previous report developed in the context of PANACeA, which included a preliminary version of some of the tools for ecosystem-based management in the Mediterranean, being developed by the Biodiversity Protection Community projects during the year 2018.
The tools included in this version of the Catalogue updated in 2022 are classified into several types: monitoring tools; management tools; geospatial tools; financial tools and other tools.
The tools catalogue is available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish.

NEW ENTREPRENEURIAL START-UP IDEAS

U-SOLVE was able to attract as many innovative ideas as possible and to maximize the impact of foreseen capacity building activities. Following this methodology, calls for applicants have been issued for both steps, including guidelines, templates, model contract and evaluation criteria.
