In the pursuit of a greener, more sustainable future, the SEACAP 4 SDG project is making waves in the world of Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plans (SE(A)CAP). Under a shared vision, strategy, and evaluation framework, this initiative is striving for seamless Med SE(A)CAP integration. The aim? To foster sustainable development aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of a smart society.
SEACAP 4 SDG is capitalizing on the invaluable insights gained from ten projects, extracting key characteristics that can be applied universally. It seeks to harness this knowledge to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of energy refurbishment strategies tailored to the unique energy poverty challenges of the Mediterranean region. These valuable insights will be put into action in nine Mediterranean cities, selected through a meticulous process developed under the European City Facility initiative.

The primary objective of this booklet Is to provide a comprehensive overview of the activities undertaken by project partners, encompassing key aspects such as the adoption of 9 updated SEACAP for public institutions and the evaluation of demonstrator results to develop Energy-mix Efficiency Action Plans at local/regional levels.
The methodology employed in the SEACAP 4 SDG project follows a well-structured path, beginning with the selection of municipalities and external energy entities. It proceeds through the Living Labs and leverages tools developed in previous projects (Selected Reference Projects) to train Local LL members and propose adapted SE(A)CAPs and Energy Action Plans.

The SEACAP 4 SDG project has achieved remarkable milestones, leaving an indelible mark on both society and the environment. Through a series of meticulously designed actions and activities, the project has ushered in a positive transformation in the realms of sustainability and climate resilience.
A key factor contributing to the project's success has been the development and deployment of a comprehensive toolkit, equipping municipalities with practical solutions to craft and execute their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SEACAPs). This approach has streamlined planning processes, empowering municipalities with effective tools to drive sustainable change.
The project's emphasis on collaboration has extended to key stakeholders, including municipalities, external experts, and local communities. Data collection and analysis have served as the bedrock for informed decision-making. By gathering comprehensive information on energy consumption patterns and CO2 emissions, the project has facilitated targeted interventions that maximize impact.
The project's multifaceted approach has targeted various sectors for energy efficiency interventions, resulting in a substantial reduction in energy consumption and carbon emissions. This tangible progress has made significant strides in the global fight against climate change.
Furthermore, the project has extended its impact through awareness campaigns and training initiatives. Municipal employees and the wider community have been educated on sustainable energy practices and the effects of climate change. This concerted effort has cultivated a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness.

The SEACAP 4 SDG project is a testament to the power of collaboration, data-driven strategies, and comprehensive planning. Its achievements in energy efficiency, emission reduction, public awareness, and policy alignment underscore its enduring impact on society and the environment. It is a beacon lighting the way towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) has diligently compiled this booklet, incorporating input from all project partners.
