Open Invitation to visit the iHERITAGE Holographic Exhibition: Gardens. Heritage and Dreams in Granada, Spain

The Gardens. Heritage and Dreams exhibition held within the framework of the iHERITAGE project with the financial assistance of the European Union under the ENI CBB Mediterranean Basin Programme, will open its doors to the public starting the 2nd of December 2022 and until the 12th of March 2023!

The Exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday the 2nd of December at 12:30 p.m. by the Managing Director of El legado Andalusi Foundation, Mrs Maria de la Concepción de Santa Ana and the Regional Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Regional Government, Mr Víctor Manuel González García. 

Opening hours: Open to the public every day, from Monday to Sunday, from 9 am to 8 pm. 

The Venues of the Exhibition: the 14th-century Nasrid building of El Corral del Carbón, Granada, the headquarters of our Foundation, and will take several spaces therein:

  • The open-air courtyard, where real plants typical of European, Mediterranean, Andalusian and Granadan gardens will be exhibited and explained.
     
  • 1 adjoining room that will house four holographic helixes explaining the evolution of the Generalife, in the Alhambra (UNESCO world heritage) will be recreated.
     
  • 1 adjoining room where several non-stop 360º-video trailers on Andalusian World Heritage gardens will be played
     
  • The Main hall of the exhibition, where the visitors can enjoy the Virtual Archaeological Reconstruction of the gardens of the Alhambra and the Albayzin district. 

The holographies developed and supplied by Italian iHERITAGE project partner, the University of Palermo, will also be on display during the entirety of the exhibition. Gardens. Heritage and Dreams will also house archaeological pieces, valuable paintings, scale models, all recreating the structure and layout of gardens of al-Andalus, with plenty of corners and secrets to be discovered.

Objectives and target group: All the panels, voice-over and information in the exhibition are in Spanish and English languages. 

The exhibition is intended to reach all kinds of audiences, from experts in the subjects of gardens and world heritage monuments to researchers, schoolchildren, high-school and university students and the general public, as the exhibition is intuitive and displays very assorted elements that can reach all age groups, while
 raising awareness and informing about UNESCO World Heritage Sites, their preservation, dissemination and knowledge based on the common thread of gardens, with special attention to Mediterranean and Andalusian environments.
