In our quest to foster sustainable business practices in the Mediterranean region, the RESET project has embarked on a collaborative journey, drawing upon the experiences and best practices of 19 previous projects. We reached out to our project partners across the Mediterranean to understand their perspectives on what it means to be engaged in the RESET project and how it has helped to promote green and sustainable business in the last year and a half. In this article, we highlight two exemplary responses that showcase innovative approaches and applications which have the potential to be replicated in other contexts.

  1. Leveraging the power of information sharing.
One of the projects we capitalise on is EBSOMED initiative, which introduced an innovative application known as the BUSINESSMED Country Desk Platform. This online information service platform serves as a catalyst to support and promote trade and investment in the Southern Mediterranean countries. It acts as a bridge, facilitating North-South or South-South commercial partnerships and fostering collaboration between Mediterranean economic operators through regional markets. This successful application demonstrates the power of information sharing and networking to create sustainable business opportunities. Its replicability in other regions holds great promise for promoting trade and collaboration in green sectors.
  2. Empowering vulnerable groups through skills enhancement.
Another inspiring project known as the HELIOS project, focuses on social inclusion and skill enhancement for vulnerable groups, specifically vulnerable NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). By upgrading the professional skills of these individuals, HELIOS aims to improve their employability and social integration. The project developed an innovative learning platform based on new curriculum models, designed to address the real needs of the market. This platform not only equips graduates with the required expertise but also fosters connections among individuals, companies, and institutions in the green business field. With a sustainability plan of at least five years beyond the project's conclusion, this replicable platform demonstrates the transformative potential of addressing root causes and creating networks of support.

These two examples from our project partners highlight the essence of the RESET project. By building on the outputs of 19 previous projects, we are able to embrace innovative methodologies and applications that pave the way for a greener and more sustainable Mediterranean region. The BUSINESSMED Country Desk Platform emphasizes the power of information exchange and partnerships, while the HELIOS Project showcases the significance of empowering vulnerable groups through skill enhancement and networking. RESET stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and commitment of our partners, as we strive to create lasting positive change in the Mediterranean green business landscape.
