The MEDISS partners met on 10 May for a coordination meeting to review progress in the implementation of the pilot projects in the four Countries participating and the planning of activities in the final year of the project.

The partners analysed the five MEDISS work packages in depth, with the aim of assessing any potential critical points and identifying the solutions to be implemented in order to achieve the desired results.

Generally speaking, to the satisfaction of all participants, MEDISS successfully overcame the COVID19 crisis, managing, albeit with adjustments to the time schedules slowed down by the restrictive measures, to reach the final phase with pilot plants completed or nearing completion and with the monitoring plans on water soils and agricultural production underway.

The results already obtained are proving to be particularly useful both for strengthening the awareness programmes in the individual pilot territories and for launching the dissemination and capitalisation phase of the results.

In fact, the MEDISS project is already being showcased at international academic conferences and regional sector events. Furthermore, the success of the pilot initiatives is facilitating the upscaling and knowledge enhancement strategies developed by the MEDISS project.

The partners concluded the meeting by agreeing on the work programme that will lead to the completion of the project, and agreed on specific focus groups for the individual work packages and the meeting scheduled to be held in June in Palestine.
