Final Cerimony for the closure of the MEDISS project in Italy and signing of the handover agreement of the pilot plant

On Thursday 23 February 2023 in Arborea, the University of Cagliari-CRENoS and ENAS - Ente Acque della Sardegna, together with the Municipality and the Cooperativa Produttori of Arborea, on the occasion of the final event of the MEDISS Project, will present the important results achieved through a three-year experimentation. The latter has demonstrated the validity of the experimental process of extracting ammonia from livestock manure and transforming it into ammonium sulphate, with the double result of obtaining a fertiliser that can be used in controlled quantities on the fields and of contributing to reducing the nitrate load for the Arborea district, in an effective circular economy perspective. 

At the final event in Arborea, ENAS, which designed and set the experimental project, will sign the agreement for the transfer of the plant to the Cooperativa Produttori di Arborea; a further step by the territory towards sustainability.
