Our participation is thanks to the Rural Women´s Development Society (RWDS), MedSNAIL partner in Palestine which has collected the testimonies of some producers and farmers, who have explained what the Mediterranean means to them through their senses. The second year of the EU-funded Med Pearls project provided incredible prospects for around 12 SMEs from six Mediterranean countries to produce Slow Tourism products in the selected 13 pilot areas.

During the month of November 2022, the Med Pearls project was happy to organise the first official familiarisation and press trips to promote the Breathing Land destinations and products. These trips were organised in Catalonia and invited tour operators and reporters to discover the Catalan territories where the project has been working on: the counties of Anoia, Les Garrigues and Ribera d'Ebre. As part of the Med Pearls goal to help in the development of 6 ICT solutions that help in the promotion of slow tourism, in the following series of articles we will present in detail the different innovations being created. In this first one, we will present the Greek mobile app GINO. 

This year, during the months of October and November, the Med Pearls project has attended its two first international travel fairs to promote the Breathing Land brand. The TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, and the World Travel Market in London, have been the two first events chosen and have given the project the chance to promote internationally its slow tourism offer across the mediterranean. Join us in the following article to find out more.

In this short interview, Alaa Aridhi, Programme manager at Westerwelle, the selected Business Support Organisation in Tunisia, gives an insight to their role and impact in the INVESTMED project at the local pitch competition in Tunisia. He explains how Westerwelle will make an impact over the next 11 months with other selected INVESTMED beneficiaries. The local pitch competition took place on the 6th and 7th July 2022.

In this short interview, the global manager of Westerwelle, a selected incubator for the INVESTMED project, gives an insight to their involvement in the project. Incubators are business support organisations selected by the project to support and accelerate the business proposals from budding entrepreneurs. Part of their role is being involved in the local pitch competitions. The event in Tunisia took place on the 6th and 7th July 2022.
