PPI4MED in Spain brings together key actors around Public Procurement of Innovation

The Spanish Living Lab on public procurement of innovation led by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) gathered, among others, the Junta de Andalucía, the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), Aguas de Galicia and the Galician Health Service (SERGAS), the Principality of Asturias, TRAGSA and the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), all key leading actors in the innovation procurement.

During the meeting which took place on 21st September, different experiences were shared that demonstrate the catalytic power of public procurement of innovation, in order to increase the value of public science and respond to the needs and challenges of today's society, in fields such as water management, waste treatment, energy efficiency, mobility or health.

The CSIC technological offer,  patents and other scientific results, will serve finally to transfor into new technological solutions and technologies that help to improve people´s quality of life, develop by the private sector through public procurement processes for innovation.
