PPI4MED in Jordan concluded the capacitation programme on Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI)

The Jordanian partner of PPI4MED has organized a capacitation programme in Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) in August 2023, which will help buyers and sellers from Jordan to  further develop their understanding of PPI.
The National Center for Research and Development (NCRD), Jordanian partner of PPI4MED, organized a hybrid training program on “Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI)” from 21 August 2023 till 23 August 2023 at Hilton Dead Sea Hotel in JORDAN.

Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Musa, NCRD president launched the training program that targeted participants from the Jordanian Living Lab that are working in procurement departments, bidding, institutional development, innovation and technology transfer in Ministries, government institutions, the private sector, non-profit organizations, startups operating in the sectors of health, agriculture, information technology, transportation, energy, water, and researchers from universities and research centres. Al-Musa also stressed that the training program will work to enhance the skills and capabilities of researchers and workers in various departments and spread the culture related to the Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) model at the national level.

The training program, which lasted for 3 days, was attended by 75 participants in the face-to-face format and 29 online from various institutions, a total of (20 Buyers and 30 Sellers). During the program, the trainers presented lectures on the foundations of applying the Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) model from the technical, financial and legal aspects, in addition to introducing the model’s mechanisms. Some experimental models were presented in other countries, and the participants worked as teams to implement a practical application of the stages of the Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) model.

The participants were encouraged to continue their studies through the access of PPI4MED training platform to watch the videos and material and prepare for taking the exam before 20th October 2023.

At the conclusion of the program, engineer Maha Al-Aqra’, project manager of PPI4MED in Jordan, distributed certificates to the participants.
