CIES Onlus, project leader of MYSEA, took part in Rome on the 4th October 2022 in the event on "Synergies for the Blue Economy in the Mediterranean area organised by the Italian delegation of  ENI CBC MED Programme, in the framework of the "Governance Complementary Operational Programme of the National Programmes of the European Territorial Cooperation Objective 2014-2020".

MYSEA presented the project and its opportunities, comparing with other ENI CBC MED projects such as COMMON, MedArtSal, FISH MED NET, TECHLOG, HELIOS, YEP-MED, on key topics related to the environment and biodiversity, Euro-Mediterranean clusters, fishing and aquaculture, technology transfer and the development of young people's professional skills.

The theme of the Blue Economy has been addressed in correlation with EU policies, experiences and strategies already active in the Mediterranean basin and in view with the future NEXT MED Programme 2021-27.

It was an opportunity to question, therefore, the increasingly relevant effects of climate change and environmental emergency, but also the value of biodiversity and ecological transition with the aim of improving the resilience and sustainability of the European economy.

The initiative was promoted by the Lazio Region (Vice-Chair of the ENI CBC MED Programme National Committee), in cooperation with the Puglia Region (Co-Chair of the above-mentioned Committee and National Contact Point).
