Med4Waste presents its capitalisation activities on Mediterranean Waste Management during a Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) event

On 14th March 2022, the Med4Waste project contributed to the 3rd working group on environment and climate change online event organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). Under the “Zooming in – 2030 greneer med supporting projects” session, municipal waste under– Pollution of 2030 GreenerMed Agenda was tackled by introducing Med4Waste project.

Med4Waste’s partners, BETA Technological Center and the American University of Beirut looked for strengthening local and regional collaborations on waste management in the Mediterranean by introducing the project partnership, covering from north to south and east to west Mediterranean countries, and the projects that are being capitalised on (DECOST, CLIMA, MED-InA, CEOMED, REUSEMED). Med4Waste capitalisation activities during the following 3 years (2021-2023) include the creation of a case studies catalogue, awareness raising campaigns, a capacity building programme, integrated municipal waste management plans, a business platform, and a policy toolkit.
