IDEA Alzira, the incubator in charge of involving the private sector in the MED-InA pilot city of Carcaixent (Valencian Community, Spain), is organising a pitching event in the Alzira Local Development Agency premises this Friday 25 February, to select the best 2 start-ups out of 19 candidates and 2 ideas out of 10 candidates.

The 29 candidates will have 5 minutes each to convince the jury, who will also include Consorci de la Ribera, Spanish partner of MED-InA, and the American University of Beirut, partner responsible for the selection and coordination of incubators in the 3 pilot cities (Carcaixent, Irbid, La Marsa).

This pitching event is the final step of an application and selection period that started with an online Info-Day on November 19, 2021. The 4 winners of the pitching event will be announced on March 1st: 10,000 euros for the 1st prize in each category and 5,000 euros for the 2nd prize in each category. In addition, they will benefit from a 3-month incubation and support period, provided by IDEA Alzira.

The overall objective of this process is to foster the development of innovative ideas and projects to support the transition to a more circular economy and the reduction of waste production in the MED-InA pilot city of Carcaixent, along with citizen engagement and the drafting of the city's new Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (ISWMP).
