An online masterclass was organized by the InnovAgroWoMed project for its four partner countries, namely Italy, Tunisia, Spain and Palestine, on the 25th of November 2021 from 11am to 1pm CET.

This masterclass was the first occasion where all the project beneficiaries from the four partner countries met for the first time.

Each group of beneficiaries nominated a representative to present, on behalf of her colleagues, the main challenges they face in their local context to work or to start a business in the agri-food sector.

The beneficiaries also had the opportunity to meet Ms. Annarita Antonelli, involved since 1997 as a consultant in CIHEAM BARI activities related to organic farming, sustainable agriculture, and rural development. She gave a very interesting presentation entitled "Exploring social innovation in the rural and agri-food sector".

This first masterclass will not be the last. Twi other masterclasses are foreseen at the begining of 2022. It was an opportunity for the partners of InnovAgroWoMed and its beneficiaries to underline once again the diversity, the richness, and the common points of the Mediterranean countries, in particular in the agri-food sector, its potentialities, its challenges and the place of women in this sector.

It was also an opportunity to exchange experiences of women in rural areas, the obstacles they face to stand on their own feet in the sector and their great perseverance in acquiring new knowledge and skills to move forward towards empowerment, success and change in socio-economic and cultural contexts.
