Following from the publication of the Intellectual Property Rights Guidebook, the INVESTMED project conducted an Intellectual Property Training session in Tunisia. This informative session complements the Sustainable Business Management training programme. The training aims to guide aspiring entrepreneurs through the basics of intellectual property and the legal frameworks protecting it globally, including IPR treaties and conventions, and nationally in Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia. This training took place on the 18th-20th October 2022. 

Yosr Belghith, founder and director of the SME Ourghema and beneficiary of INVESTMED, explained that this session not only allowed her to learn about a crucial aspect of her business, but also to share this information with her business community, mostly made up of women. Amine Massoud, from Mirage Group, (an INVESTMED beneficiary) explained that IPR training is very important because it is the “fruit” of innovation which their company relies on.

The INVESTMED project is co-funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020. INVESTMED will have an impact on MSMEs, start-ups and recently established enterprises where staff will be trained and coached to become more sustainable and competitive and financially supported via an open competition. INVESTMED has a duration of 30 months, with a total budget of 3.8 Million euro, of which 3.4 Million euro are funded by the European Union (90%).
