INTERNISA in Jordan opened an offline IT spot for women training and support at the university center

Al-Balqa Applied University, Jordanian partner of INTERNISA project opened a specialized centre for women training . This centre aims in providing specialized training in digital fields and contains equipped training rooms with the latest technology, such as computers, tablets, and advanced information technology systems.

The project manager in Jordan, Dr. Omar Arabiyat, said that the establishment of this centre goes in the university's direction to support women in the digital fields, which helps their involvement in the labour market and increase their competitiveness. It is worth mentioning that INTERNISA project is co-funded by ENI CBC MED programme, and aims to bridge the digital gap between women and men and match the supply and demand for digital skills in the finance, agri-food, textile, and tourism sectors.

Dr. Arabiat said that the Women's Center aims to increase and enhance the digital skills of Jordanian women, noting that needs were studied and analyzed through specialized surveys in the local labour market in the projects’ targeted sectors, the results of these studies aided in developing suitable training packages, to bridge the digital gap between supply and demand in the labour market. Noting that the learning resources in the center will be open to women and the local community to benefit from the services of the center.
