Among the aims of BESTMEDGRAPE, there is not only the valorisation of the grape as one of the most important crops in the Mediterranean area, but also the expansion of the grape value chain through the development of nanotechnological products, thus boosting the local economy, reducing environmental pollution and increasing employment opportunities.

In the framework of BESTMEDGRAPE, a new international collaboration arised, between our Lebanese partner Saint Joseph University and ICNODERM, Italian innovative start-up business operating in the sector of dermo-cosmetic formulations, associate partner of our project.

They worked together to write and submit two co-patents, that have been presented to the Lebanese Ministry of Economy and Trade, Section of Intellectual Property.

The first patent of invention regards "An integrated method for obtaining polyphenol grape pomace extracts", and the second one is about "New deep eutectic solvents for the extractions of phenolic compounds from grape pomace".

Congratulations to the scientific teams involved in the patents!
