As winter around the Mediterranean slowly approaches its end, we are just getting started! The iHERITAGE project's scientific-technological agenda, in the form of Living Labs, is set to launch this week. The Living Labs will complement the research of the creative, social and historic background of the intangible cultural heritage of Algarve, connecting them to the innovative solutions within the world of sustainability, tourism and new technologies.

The approach to these innovation ecosystems is based on a systematic methodology of content development, multidisciplinary research, and process setup in the Algarve geography. These events seek to highlight the development, architecture, and functionality of two applications (MARINADE+REMIND), which are embedded in the Mediterranean Diet research, focus of the iHERITAGE project in Portugal. This cultural experience will be addressing not only the local community but also the flow of tourists, offering everyone a glimpse from past generations, in response to the environment, to the power of local gastronomy, the history of the landscape and the sense of identity in Algarve.

The first Living Labs session will be held in Portuguese and will take place on the 18th of February, in the computer room nº 23, at the Escola Superior de Gestão, Hotelaria e Turismo, Universidade do Algarve. The second session will be in English and will adopt an online format, via the ZOOM platform. Both sessions will be taught by the prominent Prof. Dr. Mauro Figueiredo, researcher at CIMA-CIAC UAlg.

Participation in the Living Labs will be free and accessible to the general public. The workshops, however, will have a maximum of 20 participants, so make sure to hop on the registration list for both sessions, starting today and on the 16th of March, respectively, by simply sending an email to: lldorsch@ualg.pt

We cannot wait to see you there. Your presence is sincerely valued by the iHERITAGE team!
