On the occasion of International Women's Day, MedSNAIL in Spain highlights the role of women producers and farmers in the agri-food sector in the Mediterranean through the testimony of Estefanía, whose family owns the eco-winery Cortijo El Cura in the Andarax Valley (Andalusia), pilot area selected by the Spanish partner, the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), for the implementation of MedSNAIL in the territory.

Agro-ecological certified producers operating in the Andarax Valley have opened the doors of their farms to explain their production methods and company values, based on respect for the social and working conditions of employees, environmental protection and the maintenance of traditional crops in the area, which is essential to safeguarding biodiversity and ethnological heritage at risk of disappearing.

These visits have also served to identify and discuss the main challenges that organic farmers and producers in this Mediterranean region face, as well as to promote their products.
