Discover participants' feedback in MAIA-TAQA’s capacity building training courses on Resource-Efficiency Solutions in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan


A series of 40 hours training were conducted by MAIA-TAQA’s pilot project partners in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan. The training covered a number of thematic topics in the field of Resource-Efficiency Solutions.

Based on the lessons learned, feedback, and materials from completed reviews, the outcome shows that the training sessions provided the participants with the necessary knowledge and guidance on Resource-Efficiency Solutions.

The participants were also briefed on the set of supporting instruments to overcome the existing Resource-efficiency barriers in PV systems design, battery storage, Water and Wastewater Treatment and Solar PV Technologies.

MAIA-TAQA's Egyptian partner, CEEBA, in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), training focused on PV systems design and battery storage.

It included the following topics:

  • Feasibility studies of a PV plant
  • Egyptian regulatory framework on PV interconnected with the grid
  • International standards for designing, installing and operating PV plants
  • Internationalization of business and RES
  • PV plant operation and management
  • Exploring financial tools and implementation framework

MAIA-TAQA's Lebanese partner, The Industrial Research Institute(IRI) Lebanon training focused on Water and Wastewater treatment technologies.  

It included the following topics:

  • Procurement, installation and commissioning of Wastewater treatment
  • Feasibility studies of Wastewater treatment
  • Wastewater treatment in Lebanese hospitals  
  • Contamination of the Lebanese Coastal Beaches  
  • Innovative technologies for leak detection, operation and maintenance with insights into environmental and safety plan 
  • International standards for designing, installing and operating Wastewater treatments
  • Internationalization of business and Resource Efficiency services (REs)
  • Applicable legal framework and standardization / certification issues.
  • Exploring financial tools and implementation framework

MAIA-TAQA's Jordanian partner, The Jordan Chamber of Commerce training focused on Solar – Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) Technologies & Systems.

It included the following topics:

  • Introduction to solar energy
  • Solar PV technologies
  • BIPV Systems & BIPV Case studies
  • Study, Installation and O&M of PV systems
  • Solar Thermal collectors & components
  • Solar applications & Solar Design process
  • Solar Real Cases (DHW, solar cooling) Install and Commission
  • Installation and supervision of installation (General part + differentiations per Innovative Service)
  • Legal framework in Jordan

The trainings in the three partner countries were provided by experienced experts in the selected fields In order to ensure that the material provided is maintained at a high level and the courses designed to provide the participants with the necessary skills to deal with the complex issues that might arise in Resource Efficiency services.
