CROSSDEV meets the locals and cleans up a beach in the next Steering Committee in Jordan
Type of meeting: CROSSDEV Steering Committee and Inter Partners Management Committee (IPMC)
Location: multiple locations along the project’s sites in Umm Qais and Aqaba, Jordan
Following our latest meeting on October 2021 in Sicily, the next CROSSDEV Steering Committee (SC) and Inter Partners Management Committee (IPMC) will be held in Jordan, from March 25th to April 1st, 2022.
With the project approaching the end of the implementation period, partners from all 4 countries - Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine - will meet in person to review the latest achievements and prepare for the last months of collective work.
Taking advantage of the near completion of all sustainable tourism itineraries created in the country, the partners will add site inspections and experimentations to the agenda. Besides the official meetings, in fact, partners will take the occasion to visit the areas around Umm Qais and Aqaba across a few days.
Guided by local partner JUST (Jordan University of Science and Technology) the group will visit some of the newly developed attractions, such as the Cultural Trail, the Heritage Trail, the Health Trail and the Biking Trail around the beautiful archaeological site of Umm Qais (Northern Jordan).
The group will then move to the South to visit the most unique attractions of the Gulf of Aqaba. Local partner JREDS (The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan) will lead the group not only around the ancient and most important wonders of the city, such as the Aqaba Castle, but also to meet locals involved in the project and to take part in one of their famous clean-up campaigns at the beach.
Meeting people, exchanging ideas, achieving results, and contributing to make the Mediterranean a better place: that is what the CROSSDEV team has been doing since the start. And that is what the group will keep doing in the last months. Stay tuned and follow #goCROSSDEV and #CROSSDEVinJordan on our socials for our live reports from the mission!
