We succeed! After nine months of procedures, we reach a Major Agreement on the CEOMED project!

We restart CEOMED with a new approach, new milestones and planning an open seminar.

In addition, we re-start the project with a new member on board. She is Mouna Jraou, PhD student at Centre of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS). She obtained two Master's Degree in the field of Biological engineering after her Degree in the same field. She had a short talk with us about her feelings for this new position: "During my academic studies, I have always been impressed by the field of environmental biotechnologies. Thanks to my training of engineering studies and then my master's project I have consolidated my knowledge and acquired a strong expertise in Biological engineering field. Throughout my two Master’s Degree projects, I worked on wastewater treatment and reuse using several technologies. To continue my university studies in the same domain, the job position proposed by CEOMED project consists a great opportunity for me to get my PhD diploma. This opportunity encourages and supports me to apply the skills and the experiences that I have gained".            

She will be studying the anaerobic digestion of the wastewater and investigating the parameters optimisation at pilot scale. Furthermore, she will gain experience on European projects, specifically in Mediterranean cooperation under the CEOMED project.

But the way to obtain this position was not easy. She remarks that "I confronted two main difficulties because of the current situation in Tunisia. The first one is the problem of unemployment of highly educated people in our country. The second one is that getting funding to pursue my doctoral thesis was very hard". Now, she is enjoying the success, and in her own words, "I would like to thank the CEOMED project for this great opportunity".
