TEX-MED ALLIANCES - A new concept of dyeing small batches in Tunisia
The Cettex technology center in Monastir, Tunisia has special machinery for dyeing small batches. This is one of the initiatives of the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project.
The dyeing of fabrics and textile products is an art but it can also be a problem if we talk about small companies - SMEs - working with small batches.
TEX-MED Alliances - Three years boosting Textiles and Fashion in the Mediterranean
The TEX-MED Alliances project was launched in February 2020. Its main objective is to promote Mediterranean textile alliances for business development, internationalization, and innovation.
During its 3 years of implementation, TEX-MED ALLIANCES has worked intensively on the development of initiatives to promote 3 fundamental aspects: innovation, internationalization, and circular economy in the textile sector of the Mediterranean basin. To this end, 4 initiatives have materialized:
INNOMED-UP supports SMES from Jordan to develop and market innovative recycled products
Yousef and Tahani are pioneer SMEs working in the touristic area in Irbid supported by INNOMED-UP project to expand their business and produce innovative recycled products that are syllable and have good market value especially for the tourists
They managed to utilize the project small grants to buy the equipment and machines that facilitated the production of new, attractive and innovative products from available recyclables which was not possible before due to lack of financial and technical resources.
INNOMED-UP project reinforces upcycling through SMEs of the cultural and creative sector in the historic center of Athens, engaging Smart Tools to support circularity beneath the pilot cluster network
Upcycling practices on behalf of SMEs of the cultural and creative sector are situated in the historic center of Athens. The importance of the location of the CCI SMEs highlights the need of the upcoming pilot cluster reinforcing circularity in the Athenian center. Smart Tools are willing to engage the CCI SMEs network as a form of collaboration inside the pilot cluster, supporting and promoting the capabilities of upcycling.
INNOMED-UP: Birzeit University publishes awareness video on the impact of human waste on health and environment
Birzeit University published a short video targeting public in Palestine to raise the awareness of circular economy through focusing on the impact of human waste on health and environment to achieve the project goals to expand the idea of circular economy.
MEDWAYCAP travelling exhibition: from Syracuse, Italy to the Mediterranean, telling the good practices of 'non-conventional water’
An exhibition, designed to travel and tell the story of proposals on the management of "Non-Conventional Water Resources". It is the "MEDWAYCAP exhibition", previewed in Syracuse and soon to be hosted by the Medwaycap project partner countries, starting with Tunisia in February 2023.
