U-SOLVE in Italy explores green infrastructures challenges in the city of Palermo

"The care and usability of public spaces and in particular of the city's green areas is a very relevant issue for the future of Palermo".

In this video, Professor Giuseppe Barbera, from the university of Palermo, tells U-SOLVE how the University of Palermo, in the context of its research projects, is among the realities in the field of imagining and designing models of management and restitution of these areas, also thanks to the new funding opportunities provided on a national scale.

REUSEMED in Italy promotes composting in bars and restaurants

The municipality of Capannori, together with ASCIT, will start in 2023 an experimental program to incentivize the local bars and restaurants to compost their organic waste. It is a new project, that aims at reducing waste produced in this town. It takes place within the framework of REUSEMED, in which Capannori joined with partners in Spain, Jordan and Tunisia. These initiatives don’t only aim at starting a circular economy, but also at developing environment-friendly initiatives such as composting.
