Between the 13th and the 17th of February, Biofach 2023 opened its doors in Nürnberg, Germany. During five days, the biggest organic fair in the world welcomed stakeholders from across the globe, including the partners of ORGANIC ECOSYSTEM and a selection of companies participating in the project.

Sustainable tourists across the Mediterranean will soon have a new virtual meeting point to get information about their favorite topic: conscious travelling.

Cortijo El Cura is an example of business diversification that demonstrates how synergies can be found between organic food production and sustainable tourism through educational activities and awareness raising. It is located in the Andarax Valley, MedSNAIL pilot area in Andalusia (Spain).

Estefanía tells how this family business, which had previously been dedicated to intensive agriculture, decided to abandon that form of production in favour of organic farming.

Among the aims of BESTMEDGRAPE, there is not only the valorisation of the grape as one of the most important crops in the Mediterranean area, but also the expansion of the grape value chain through the development of nanotechnological products, thus boosting the local economy, reducing environmental pollution and increasing employment opportunities.
