A week ahead of U-SOLVE call announcment (July 2022) , A public event was organized by the Cypriot partners – the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Institute – to announce U-SOLVE Call for Proposals. During the event, the Call’s guidelines and application procedure were presented.

Notably, in his address, the Mayor of the Municipality of Strovolos, Mr. Papacharalambous stated: “When we first heard about  U-SOLVE Project, our team at the Municipality of Strovolos immediately felt the need to support it and its vision. We understand that the ideas that will come out from the competition will serve as best practice and influence sustainable behaviors. Therefore, as a local authority we are committed to examine how we can actively support the implementation of those ideas that will be produced as a result of  U-SOLVE project”.

In a welcoming and inspiring environment, the event’s participants listened with excitement and interest, engaged with the presenters in constructive discussions and had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding not only about the call and  U-SOLVE project, but also to realize what synergies and cooperation opportunities the project offers.

This event -  attended by over 45 participants-  the announcement of the “Call for Proposals” was a project milestone that the U-SOLVE Cypriot partners were waiting with great anticipation.
