During the opening ceremony, Ms. Salma Esawy, the project manager in Egypt, gave a presentation on the importance of the hub in helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals, particularly within the framework of the U-SOLVE project where it represents a positive development for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Egypt and the wider Mediterranean region.

The event was attended by more than 50 participants from various related sectors, including experts and researchers from all scientific and technological fields, and businessmen who own small and medium-sized companies. The opening ceremony was followed by a workshop on the challenges, such as intellectual property protection and tax regulations that start-ups face in the current ecosystem and a policy recommendation for potential solutions to help overcome these challenges.

This workshop was an opportunity to bring mentors, advisors, policy analysts, and entrepreneurs together to discuss the impact of political changes on access to capital for start-ups, benefiting from tax policies in favour of start-ups, and regulatory changes that can help start-ups navigate the legal and regulatory landscape with ease.

All of the six selected start-ups for U-SOLVE project training were invited to get to know each other and exchange knowledge and information with experts and mentors to help them turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses.
