TEX-MED ALLIANCES awarded with the International Textile Manufacturers Federation - ITMF’s International Cooperation

The EU-funded project TEX-MED ALLIANCES (TMA) adds another success to its work for the textile industry in the Mediterranean basin. The International Textile Manufacturers Federation - ITMF has awarded it the International Cooperation Award.

This prize recognises the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project, led by the Spanish partner Texfor, for "progress in the field of international collaboration in the textile industry according to the values of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".

TEX-MED ALLIANCES, Mediterranean Textile Alliances for Business Development, Internationalisation and Innovation, is funded by the European Union, within the ENI CBC MED Programme. This project promotes the textile and clothing sector in the Mediterranean basin. It encourages business development by supporting cross-border cooperation initiatives in 3 fields: innovation, internationalization, and circular economy. 7 Mediterranean countries are participating: Greece, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, Spain and Palestine.

During the award ceremony, Texfor's Director of European Operations and Programmes, Mrs. Monica Olmos, presented TEX-MED ALLIANCES to more than 400 attendees at the ITMF Conference in Davos.Olmos highlighted that "this is truly an award that rewards international cooperation, as the TEX-MED ALLIANCES project brings together 7 countries from the North and South of the Mediterranean working together for the ethical and sustainable development and competitiveness of the textile world".

The ITMF 2022 Awards were presented in "Sustainability and Innovation" and "International Cooperation". The announcement and presentation of the award took place during the ITMF Annual Conference in Davos, Switzerland.
