The first meeting of MED-QUAD project Steering Committee was held online on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2021.
MED-QUAD to launch cross-border living lab on smart and efficient use of water
The living lab is an open space accessible to the citizens where pilot projects regarding new products and services are tested, resulting from the fermentation process of the Quadruple Helix approach factors and serve the specific needs of citizens. The MED-QUAD project foresees the pilot operation of 2 cross border living labs in each country, with the first one concerning the "smart water use and applications" (SWUAP). The goals of the living lab are the following:

In the framework of the EMPORIA4KT project, the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) as partner of INTECMED project participated to an online event on 25th June 2021, which had as objective to present entrepreneurship and blue economy promotion mechanisms to researchers.

COMMON project: single-use plastics pollution, where does Europe stand?
Today, the Rethink Plastic alliance and the Break Free From Plastic movement released two reports, an assessment of policy measures adopted by EU countries to phase out single-use plastic and a catalogue of best practices that can be replicated or scaled up to support the transition. They show that further ambition is urgently needed and come as the period for EU Member States to transpose the Single Use Plastics Directive comes to an end on 3 July 2021.
Med Pearls: 5 New Calls for Proposals for Slow Tourism Product Creation - Egypt, Italy, Palestine, Jordan & Greece
The Med Pearls project, funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med Programme, has the goal to set up a network of 26 Slow Tourism products across 6 Med countries (Egypt, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Palestine and Spain). These products (also called ‘PEARLS’) will share similar characteristics, follow the Slow Tourism spirit and offer equivalent and fully adapted experiences in the different countries.
