The ARTOLIO project's main objective is to benefit its participants. It is a people-oriented project and it prides itself on providing the necessary help to the farmers who are part of it. Blas Lanagrán, the protagonist of this story, is one of the many participants who has witnessed the results of the project first-hand.

The town of Umm Qais, in northern Jordan, witnessed several different historic periods over time: Roman, Byzantine, Islamic and Ottoman, and is currently considered a potential destination for “Nature Tourism”. Yet, the active, creative and ambitious local community is in need of improving their skills in order to meet new tourists’ expectations.

Part of MED-InA’s ambition is to include the private sector and its creative potential in the Zero Waste efforts of its 3 pilot cities, among which the Greater Irbid Municipality in Jordan.
