SEACAP 4 SDG Newsletter issue #2 promotes participatory training activities for sustainable cities

We are pleased to announce that the Newsletter issue #2 of the SEACAP 4 SDG Project is finally out!

This newsletter highlights the learning activities implemented within the project partners' countries to help the different municipalities improve their energy efficiency strategies and action plans.
Utilize this issue to learn more about the recent developments regarding the energy rehabilitation initiatives, successes, and events that has been proposed and put into place in Mediterranean public buildings.

REUSEMED in Tunisia promotes the reduction of organic waste at household level

A workshop to promote individual composting was organised on Thursday 22 February 2023 at the Cité des Sciences in Tunis. The meeting took place within the month of clean cities, an initiative launched by the Tunisian Ministry of Environment under the aegis of the Minister of Environment Mrs. Leila CHIKHOUI MEHDAOUI.

REUSEMED in Italy promotes composting in bars and restaurants

The municipality of Capannori, together with ASCIT, will start in 2023 an experimental program to incentivize the local bars and restaurants to compost their organic waste. It is a new project, that aims at reducing waste produced in this town. It takes place within the framework of REUSEMED, in which Capannori joined with partners in Spain, Jordan and Tunisia. These initiatives don’t only aim at starting a circular economy, but also at developing environment-friendly initiatives such as composting.

Maria Cristina Fossi, Professor of Ecology and Ecotoxicology of University of Siena and scientific coordinator of Plastic Busters CAP receives in Italy an international award for her studies for the protection of the environment.

The Motomundi Award 2022  is an international prize in the context of the international climate and environment festival Motumundi, held in Italy every year.
