Insights from RESET project partners on fostering sustainable business practices across the Mediterranean
In our quest to foster sustainable business practices in the Mediterranean region, the RESET project has embarked on a collaborative journey, drawing upon the experiences and best practices of 19 previous projects. We reached out to our project partners across the Mediterranean to understand their perspectives on what it means to be engaged in the RESET project and how it has helped to promote green and sustainable business in the last year and a half.
REUSEMED in Italy extends the promotion of composting to restaurants and bars
'Comp-Osterìa' is the new initiative promoted by the Municipality of Capannori in Italy, in collaboration with the Centro Ricerca Rifiuti Zero, coordinated by Rossano Ercolini, within the scope of the REUSEMED project, financed by the EU-funded programme ENI CBC Med. The project aims at promoting the culture of reuse in the Mediterranean area of which the Municipality of Capannori is part of.
Co-Evolve4BG in Italy launches an action plan to promote the UNESCO Circeo Biosphere Reserve
On 31st May 2023, the first of five appointments with key actors of the territory took place in presence at the headquarters of the Pro-Loco of San Felice Circeo (LT) Italy.
The workshop had the purpose of setting the basis for a participatory approach leading to the definition of an Action Plan for tourism promotion of the UNESCO Circeo Biosphere Reserve.
FISH MED NET in Lebanon trained fishermen on how to preserve life below the waves
The Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon, as partner of FISH MED NET project, presents a case of fishery diversification in services to the community module, thanks to the best case of the Tyre coast nature reserve. Scientists and envirnonmentalists exchanged with fishermen to better preserve the biodiversity of the Mediterranean. Hand in hand scientists and fishermen can collaborate for the benefit of the environment.

Collaboration Generates Impact: MENAWARA & MEDWAYCAP International events in Jordan Explores Non-Conventional Water Reuse in Mediterranean Agriculture
Amman, Jordan - The utilization of non-conventional water took center stage at the International Roundtable and Interchange experience held in Jordan on May 7th and 8th, 2023. The event, organized by the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), brought together national and international stakeholders from Jordan, Palestine, Tunisia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt, and Malta.
MENAWARA exchange visit showcases successful reuse projects and wastewater treatment plant in Palestine
As part of the MENAWARA initiative, an exchange visit was organized to provide Palestinian farmers with first hand exposure to successful case studies and reinforce the knowledge they have gained throughout the project. The visit aimed at demonstrating the practical applications of the project's principles and techniques.
MENAWARA provides important learning opportunities linked to non conventional water in Tunisia: 80 people trained.
In an effort to enhance understanding and utilization of non-conventional water (NCW) in Tunisia, the Office National de l'Assainissement (ONAS) successfully organized three comprehensive training courses from May 2nd to May 5th, 2023. The courses attracted approximately 80 eager participants, including 18 farmers, 35 wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) engineers, and 22 agricultural extension workers.
