World Water Day is on 22 March every year. It is an annual United Nations Observance, started in 1993, that celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2 billion people currently living without access to safe water. A core focus of World Water Day is to inspire action towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

The topic of this year is “GROUNDWATER – MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE” 

This clip brings snippets from interviews with farmers in Spain, Tunisia and Lebanon to mark World Water Day 2022 Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible. To this effect, the script for the interviews invited farmers to explain about their dependence on groundwater to sustain their livelihoods and how this dependence may have been impacted by the effects of climate change.

Sofia and Paolo, students of the school chosen for the implementation of the pilot installation in the Municipality of Ferla, Italy share their expectations and thoughts on the imprtance of the green wall for greywater treatment and water purification.

While it sometimes feels like we're all doing a great job when recycling, the reality is that we have still got a worryingly long way to go.

The Greater Irbid Municipality (GIM) and the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), partners of the MED-InA project funded by the European Union’s ENI CBC Med Programme, have produced this video to present their actions in the field of waste management and reduction.
