Sustainable MED Cities presented in Thessaloniki its Innovative Tools and the Key Performance Indicators Assessment system to improve the sustainability of the Mediterranean cites

iiSBE Italia R&D and the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) presented the Sustainable MED Cities Project Key Performance Indicators assessment system and tools at the last edition of SBE (Sustainable built environments) conferences that took place in Thessaloniki (Greece) on March 23-24th, 2023.

The international SBE23-Thessaloniki conferences event, which aimed to explore sustainability in the built environment as the way to achieve the targets for climate change mitigation and adaptation, had aroused great interest and was very well attended by participants from European and non-European countries

Andrea Moro, President of iiSBE Italia R&D, as key speaker in the Thursday 23/3 morning session, illustrated the system of innovative tools and methodologies to implement effective policies, strategies and action plans in relation to the Mediterranean strategy for sustainable development 2016-2025 currently being tested in the Sustainable Med Cities project.

 

 

Costas Balaras, Research Director of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), presented the paper "Key Performance Indicators for Sustainable Mediterranean Buildings and Cities" which illustrates the assessment system for Sustainable MED Cities currently tested on the three partner cities (Sousse in Tunisia, Moukthara in Lebanon and Irbid in Jordan) in the parallel session " Urban sustainability" which was held on the morning of Friday 24/3.
