The seventh book, an exciting pulp detective story is in development by university professors within the MED GAIMS project in Spain

The Seventh Book team is composed of a multidisciplinary group of researchers and university professors from different disciplines, as well as tourism and culture business professionals. “What we have in common is that we have conducted scientific research in the field of game studies and gamification. We understand gamification as the use of game elements in non-game context, such as tourism. We strongly believe in the power of this tool to motivate actions, promote learning, and engage people; and we have seen it scientifically through different successful academic projects and experiments on this matter. We are talking about a upward trend which can be applied in tourism in many ways. Together this is the perfect match to attract new targets and engage visitors, as well as to promote culture in a friendly way.

Our proposal is a digital gamebook smartphone application called "The Seventh Book". It is an immersive game, a mystery adventure in which you are the main character, and have to take choices, solve puzzles, and carry out time trials. An exciting pulp story related to the events and characters of the city, which takes place on your phone but needs a real interaction with the streets and cultural heritage sites of the city of Vilanova i la Geltrú, in Spain. Consequently, an experience that will make Vilanova i la Geltrú a different spot to visit and play go.”

In order to accomplish their task, the group counts on expertise of an award-winning team of application developers, and a professional team dedicated to translate and correct the script, in an effort to provide users with high-quality product and game experience.

The release date of this interactive history is set on September 2021, and will be available for free download from Google Play and Apple Store app stores.
