SEACAP 4 SDG Talks with partners on energy efficiency - The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC)

Let's have a chat with the project partners!

The SEACAP 4 SDG Project is nearing completion so we thought to gather some impressions from the project partners.

Here is Mr. Mohammad HIJAZI, Energy Engineer from The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) sharing what ment for its organisation to be part of the ENI CBC Med Programme funded project!

In the SEACAP 4 SDG project, municipalities set specific emissions reduction targets based on their baseline and selected target year. For example, Jdeideh El Chouf in Lebanon aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% by 2030 through various mitigation actions. Despite economic and electric shortage crises, many Lebanese residents and businesses have turned to renewable energy solutions like Photovoltaic systems. The proposed mitigation actions in Jdeideh El Chouf represent a comprehensive strategy to promote energy efficiency and sustainability across sectors. The project focuses on two key buildings, "Moukhtara High School" and the "Development Services Center in Al Moukhtara," chosen not only for their energy characteristics but also for their social importance. This demonstrates a commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and their well-being through sustainable energy solutions.
