SEACAP 4 SDG conducted a Local Living Lab focusing on innovative solutions for energy, targeting smart and sustainable living areas

The University of Patras and specifically the Department of Civil Engineering as partners in the project SEACAP 4 SDG of the ENI CBC Med Programme, organized a Living Lab on Thursday, 8th of June 2023, at “Agora Argyri” in the city centre of Patras, Greece.
The LL took place during the “GreenBuilding Open Day” and SEACAP hosted a session titled "Developing Smart Communities for Youth: Sustainability, Innovation, and Transition to Sustainable Energy".

During the Living Lab, an extensive report was given by Ms. Panagiota Saranti on the project's activities and results to citizens and other stakeholders. For a more complete coverage of the issues addressed by SEACAP 4 SDG, we considered it would be interesting to involve and invite representatives of related projects and experts specialized in Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs), Energy Upgrades and so on.

Thus, Ms. Chrysoula Christia highlighted the results of the study conducted in the Municipality of Aigialeia, as a pilot Municipality, in the SEACAP 4 SDG project and how the public building becomes more environmentally friendly. Also, she analyzed the experience of the public entity represented, regarding the Interreg FAME Road project. The guests complemented the meeting with their own actions and ideas, while the synergies between them were discussed. The Living Lab, as Local II concluded with the presentations of the students' innovative ideas on Smart Cities, Infrastructure and Transport.
