REUSEMED in Spain attracts more than a thousand people to ‘The book is alive’ festival

More than a thousand people participated in the various activities proposed in 'El libro vive' (‘The book is alive’), the festival framed in the context of the Cordoba Book Fair. A great success of participation in a day that included various recreational activities with the aim of illustrating the value of books and encourage their reuse among the neighbors of the Spanish municipality.

The initiative, which is part of the activities programmed within REUSEMED project, included the representation of an excerpt from Don Quixote, performed by the Classical Theater Company of Cordoba, a workshop for children, conducted by the Dionisio Ortiz School of Art, and the characterization of Victorian novel characters in period costumes.

REUSEMED proposes to create municipal networks based on reuse circuits for home appliances, furniture, books, clothes, Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment and food. To set up the networks, 4 cities in Spain, Italy, Jordan and Tunisia will design and test composting installations, food collection points in markets, repair and reuse centers, reuse corners in shops and repairing cafés.
