PPI4MED brings science closer to the general public as a way of tackling the challenges facing Mediterranean societies.

November is the month of science, the different countries participating in PPI4MED organised various activities focused on the promotion of science. Thus, through initiatives such as the Science Festival in Italy, the Falling-Walls event in Jordan, the Science Week in Spain and the International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology in Tunisia, the aim is to bring the world of science and research closer to all audiences, especially the youngest ones.

All these events are also aimed at raising awareness of the importance of creating analytical and critical thinking that will help to resolve, in the long term, issues that affect everyone, such as health, the environment, water management or ICT, which are addressed by the PPI4MED project.

The PPI4MED considers that science is essential for addressing current challenges such as the coronavirus, the European Green Deal or the pollution of our seas and children’s young people, scientific women, the society are the key transfer the knowledge generated.

Under the PPI4MED, five key actors of the Science and Technology Innovation System are working to address common challenges for the Mediterranean region.
