Plastic Busters CAP in Lebanon is looking in for a Marine Litter Policy Expert

Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (TCNR), Lebanese partner of the Plastic Busters Cap project is looking for a consultancy for a Marine Litter Policy Expert.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONSULTANT

  • Mapping of Marine Litter related policies at local, national, and regional level (deadline 10 April 2023).
  • Setting up a consultation survey to identify marine litter policy priorities (deadline August 2023).
  • Coordination with all the project Partners to collect all the info needed.
  • Participation and evaluate the interim and final report related to this task.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge in both national and Mediterranean environmental legislation.   
  •  Knowledge of existing policy and regulations at national/European/Mediterranean level, specifically those related to coastal waste management and marine litter mitigation actions.
  • Experience on Marine Litter policy and Governance.
  • Experience on writing report.

BUDGET

For the implementation of the activity, the expert will be paid a sum of 6500 Euros divided as follow:

  • 3000 Euros for task 1: Mapping of Marine Litter related policies at local, national, and regional level (deadline 10 April 2023).
  • 2500 Euros for Task 2: Setting up a consultation survey to identify marine litter policy priorities (deadline August 2023).
  • 1000 Euros for Participate and evaluate the interim and final report related to this task.

ABOUT

Plastic Buster Cap tackles one of the world's biggest challenges, especially in the Mediterranean Sea: "Marine Litter". The project will help enhance and transfer knowledge, experience, and best practice tools that address the entire management cycle of marine litter, from monitoring and assessment to prevention and mitigation, towards an integrated and strategic approach that couples Ecosystem-Based Management and Integrated Coastal Zone Management into local development planning. One of the project's activities is Marine Litter Governance and Policy Mainstreaming.
