FOR OUR BEES, by the MedBEESinessHubs project team in Cyprus

It was your usual July day in Cyprus, back in 2021. Hot, but also windy. It was another long summer that followed a dry winter.

A deadly forest fire hit the island that day, the worst in decades. The blaze killed four people, while more than 50 sq km of forest and farmland had been destroyed, among them beekeeping facilities and hives...

The Med BEESiness Hubs Project team in Cyprus, under the title 'FOR OUR BEES', is planting bee-friendly plants in the rural village of Ora, one of the 10 villages destroyed by the 2021 fire.
