At a time like the present - in which major airports tend to be saturated and can no longer receive flights from growing areas such as Asia, simply because there are no available open slots - great opportunities may open up for secondary airports or for the development of new airport hubs in rural areas outside the major cities.
The NADIR project aims to reduce disparities in the MED area through the definition of shared methodologies that allows local authorities to plan integrated and innovative strategies for:
- providing new impulses to secondary airports for development and investment;
- strengthening the cooperation between MED and Chinese airports through the joint development of aeronautical, airport, cargo and logistics technologies;
- building an integrated network of secondary airports and connecting them with the Asian market, and in particular the Chinese market, through dedicated routes;
- promoting innovative policies in order to attract and to implement public/private investments through sustainable and responsible financing approaches (PPP);
- facilitating the establishment and networking of specialized business platforms in local airport districts in the MED area;
- supporting SMEs in the activation and implementation of commercial and industrial connections in the MED area and in Asian markets, with particular emphasis on China;
- establishing a transnational Aviation Academy based in the MED countries.
- Establishment of local public private partnerships for the secondary airports hubs development
- Establishment of the international NADIR network
- Delivery of the international investment agenda 2030 for the ENI MED area
- Establishment of the Nadir business and investment platforms
- Establishment of the Nadir international aviation training academy
- Policy stabilization in the MED area
