MYSEA project's final event in Lebanon: "Stimulating Development. Enhancing Inclusion"

After three complex, challenging and exciting years, the EU-Funded project MYSEA is heading into its final stages. We started in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic era, having a kick-off meeting remotely and getting to know each other in person for the first time halfway through the project. And despite a number of turbulences and difficulties, we managed to launch our ambitious Blue&Green Economy-focused training course: in some countries it took place mostly online, in others in person. Creative workshops were held - which, we can say, were the most attractive part especially for young people!

And now that we are almost at the end, we want to take another opportunity to do what we care most about: bringing young people closer to work in sustainable economies, bringing the needs of businesses closer to the skills of young people, bringing institutions and training providers closer together, and - last but not least - bringing the Mediterranean shores closer together through Cross-Border Cooperation. That is why the closing event of the MYSEA project, to be held in Beirut at the Le Royal Hotel venue on September 30, will be titled "Stimulating Development. Enhancing Inclusion."

The event will gather a group of prominent figures from different fields such as diplomatic representatives, EU officials, INGOs and local NGOs delegates, private sector actors and entrepreneurs, ENI CBC Med Program beneficiaries, academicians, stakeholders, experts and media.

The gathering will constitute an opportunity to showcase the innovation in all its forms that MYSEA brought to more than 1,200 beneficiaries from Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Jordan and Lebanon.

"MYSEA - Mediterranean Youth, NEETs and women advancing Skills, Employment and Awareness in the blue and green economy" is a project funded by the European Union with the ENI CBC Med Program. It aims at increasing the employability of youth, women and NEETs in the agri-food and waste management industries by developing training oriented to both sectors and strengthening local governance and sector-skills alliances between economic actors and TVET institutions to align the education curricula with sector’s needs.
It resulted in building the capacity of the participants to apply the soft and hard skills learned during its different stages, and offered in return a platform to exchange experiences and implement national schemes in favor of youth employment.

After the institutional greetings, the meeting will be divided into three thematic panels dealing with the following topics:

Panel IGreen and Blue Economy: Agri-Business, Waste Management & Energy
Panel IISocial and Economic Inclusion of Young People, NEETs and Women: Training and Decent Work in the Green and Blue Economy
Panel IIIDigital Learning, Youth, and Women Development
