MYSEA in Italy organises a forum on sustainable future

What are we talking about when we talk about ecological transition? Is it possible to think about the transformation of territories, production and the environment without the people who make it happen? Obviously, it is not possible: institutions, companies, workers, trainers, and young people are the real players of change. Harmonizing this very complex texture requires a constant collective effort of planning, practices and ability to build networks.

To give rise to a global reflection on these issues, CIES Onlus, Lead Beneficiary of MYSEA, is organizing the project's national event: a forum for "A Sustainable Future: Youth, Women, Training and Work in the Blue & Green Economy" which will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 (h 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) at Palazzo Merulana in Rome (Via Merulana, 121).

In addition to presenting the results, the training and job orientation paths put in place with the MYSEA project, it will be an opportunity to promote a dialogue to build new synergies and future projects, to ensure the continuity of our actions in a perspective of future sustainability.

The forum will be a moment of common reflection on strategies for the inclusion of young people who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEETs) and women in sustainable economies and on the most effective communication mechanisms to convey the good practices of ecological transition.

In this regard, during the forum participants will be invited to divide into three working groups and take part in one of the 3 thematic workshops to be held simultaneously:
- Training, Skills and Territories for the Blue & Green Economy
- A policy for decent work for young people
- Communicating the Green Transition.

Work by youth and women who took part in MYSEA's creative workshops (photography, videomaking and digital storytelling) will also be displayed.

"Mediterranean Youth, NEETs and women advancing Skills, Employment and Awareness in the blue and green economy (MYSEA)" of which CIES Onlus is the lead partner, is a project co-funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med programme. MYSEA promotes the employment inclusion of young people, women and NEETs in the Blue&Green Economy-particularly in the agri-food and waste management sectors-by reducing the skills gap between labor supply and demand in Mediterranean countries.

Due to the limited number of places available, registration is required through the form at the following link: https://www.cies.it/mysea-forum/
